So this post was supposed to be up early this afternoon but I’ve been literally bouncing around waiting for Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire to release and making stickers for my digital bullet journal. The amount of nerd in that one sentence is real. So.Real. Anyhoo — I promise to do a post allllll about digital bullet journaling, Deadfire and of course solo farming plastids in Warframe wicked soon!
But first – Yogurt freaking Bowls. I’m not even joking about these things with you right now. None of us have time to make a nutritious breakfast or snack. There’s either a million places we need to be, it’s raid day, someone’s guild needs something from you or something needs to be leveled and/or grinded for. It’s literally a “nobody got time for that” meme in the making.
Which is where my beloved Yogurt Bowl comes in. They take all of 5 minutes to put together {seriously, deciding on a sorties load out in Warframe takes longer than it does to make this}, they’re delicious, nutritious and can be eaten while you watch twitch. Okay, in fairness everything can be eaten while you watch twitch.
Fresh vs. Frozen Fruit: The pictures have fresh fruit because it’s prettier but to be honest I use frozen fruit. It’s cheaper, easier to find what you want and it lasts forever. I literally have 3 or 4 kinds of frozen fruit in my freezer all the time and use them for a variety of snacks and yogurt bowls. I tend to though only have puppy-friendly fruit because puppers LOVES fruit and it’s a healthy snack to share with her!
Everything else: I like to add coconut flakes and chia seeds no matter what I’m adding in additionally. They’re super healthy for you and add some fun texture to what’s normally just “yogurt”. I’ve also been known to add enjoy life chocolate chips or nuts of some kind into it. The chocolate chips more if it’s a later in the day snack and I’m just feeling spicy.
Yogurt: Don’t buy crap yogurt. Just don’t. Use yogurt that’s yummy and not loaded with crap because the whole point of yogurt bowl is to be nutritious and yummy. Personally we use Lactose Free Yogurt from Green Valley Organics because normally large doses of dairy can make my sinuses act up so this is a great way to not have a stuffy nose and still enjoy yogurt. But you don’t need to go organic or anything crazy like that, just make sure the yogurt is yummy and not crap. K? You’re the best!
— Oh! And! If you’re paleo or dairy free and don’t like the lactose free yogurt you could use Coconut Milk based Yogurt or a nut based yogurt!
Bonus? With Summer right around the corner these are super refreshing when it’s a million degrees out and you just can’t even with the stove or oven. So many wins with this one Yogurt Bowl friends, so many wins.
